Peter Mikaya, of Pete’s Marinades, Rubs and Sauces LLC, has created Pete’s Big Jerk. Pete was born in Africa from the country of Malawi, and came to America in his younger years with his parents and siblings. He is a chef by training, with 19 years in the culinary world and has always been fascinated with sauces, leading to making sauces for others to enjoy.
Pete has taken something familiar to most outsiders who have travelled and tasted the tantalizing aromas of jerk cooking and seasoning, and brought them to Michigan. While he does not have abundant resources of Scotch Bonnet peppers in Michigan, he has produced his jerk seasoning with a variation of different peppers to achieve the same tantalizing aroma’s and seasoning of jerk cooking.
Pete’s Big Jerk opens the door a little wider and closer for consumers to savor world ingredients on a local level. Experience culinary characteristics and the culture of jerk-incorporated-products with your cuisines.
Combining the flavors of American sauces with the seasoning native to the Caribbean, particularly Jamaica, with Jerk seasoning.
